Volunteer to be a Team Parent!

Teams can have one team parent or a number of team parents. These are some ways that team parents can help their coaches throughout the season:

  • Get e-mail addresses of both athletes and their parents (from the Athlete Information Sheets) and set up a mailing list to get information out to the team in a timely manner. The coaches may decide to use this list themselves to communicate with the team or they can ask to team parent to take on this responsibility. Find the form HERE.
  • Set up a phone tree. If your coach decides to do this, it is important that all athletes and parents review the phone tree and contact the person assigned to them.
  • Volunteer for such roles as timekeepers, chain holders, announcers, concession stand workers, refreshment suppliers, and car-poolers, among others. Check with the coach as to what type of help is needed on your particular team.
  • Work with the coaches on Senior Day recognition (see RM Athletic handbook for more detail)
  • Work with the coaches and other parents to coordinate any end-of-season parties/luncheons.
  • Act as the link between the parents and the coach if any issues come up during the season that parents have questions or concerns about and may not feel comfortable dealing with the coach directly about.
